Gloria Mae Woodley, just two months shy of 90 years old, was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, January 30, 2017. She was the loving wife of 44 years to the late William T. Woodley; beloved daughter of the late Giuseppe and Helen Ricciotti; devoted mother of Rich (Regina) Woodley, John (Cindy) Woodley, Mary (Shawn) Houston, Laura (Kerry) Carpenter, and Bob (Renee) Woodley; cherished grandmother of Erin (Joe) Burby, Sara Woodley, Michael Woodley, Ben (Beth) Woodley, Brian (Rachel) Woodley, Elizabeth Woodley, Brett Woodley, Daniel Houston, Tyler Houston, Katie Carpenter, Jeffrey Carpenter, Thomas Carpenter, Michelle Woodley, Andrew Woodley, and Paul Woodley; treasured great-grandmother of Anthony, Charlie, Noah, J.J., Alex, and Ella; dear sister of Marie (the late Sam) Gravagna; sister-in-law of Mary Ricciotti. She was known as Aunt Glo to her many nieces and nephews. Gloria was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald (Irma) Ricciotti and Nick Ricciotti.
Gloria was a member at St. Cletus Catholic Church, and previously a member of St. Lawrence Martyr where she was very involved with the Ladies Sodality and the Bridge Club. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and watched every game, as well as listened to the commentary on the radio. She was a collector of many things, especially Precious Moments, Angels, Barbies, Beanie Babies, and Santa Claus figurines. She enjoyed working her crossword puzzles every day, watching Jeopardy, and playing board games with family. She belonged to a ladies bridge club and played for 40 years. Gloria was a great cook, for which her children looked forward to her many cookies at Christmas time, and her grandkids loved the Jello Jigglers she made for them. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, and she never forgot a birthday or anniversary. She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Dr. Craft for his wonderful care to Gloria, as he went above and beyond the regular care of a doctor.
