Genevieve Helen Hamill

Genevieve Helen Hamill nee Koch b. March 25, 1924, d. February 20, 2017. Loving wife of John Hamill for 63 years. Loving mother of 6 children: Kathleen Arns (Jeff), Joe Hamill (Tammy), Sue Bowers (Richard), John J. Hamill III, Jane Koenig (Ray), and David Hamill, and loving Grandmother of Rebecca Arns, Sara Hamill, Catherine (Katie) Hamill, Jason Bowers, James Bowers, Joshua Bowers, Kellie Sargent, Rachel Carlton, Aaron Koenig and Alexander Hamill. Great Grandmother to Jacob Bowers, Brian Bowers, Jordyn Bowers, Audrey Jane Sargent, Karleigh Marie Sargent and Kyndall Leigh Carlton. Preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Stella Koch, Brother Herbert Koch, Sisters Marie and Dorothy Koch and Patricia Ann Lee.

Genevieve was born and raised in Highland, Illinois. She attended Le Clerc College in Belleville, Illinois and received an education degree from UMSL. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, collecting dolls, dancing with her husband, collecting antiques, taking care of foster infants and traveling to Europe with her husband and son, Jack. Genevieve was also a non-singing member of the UMSL chorus. She was deeply loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
