Fred Govier, of O’Fallon, MO, Stepped into Heaven Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the age of 78. Loving husband of Janice Govier; beloved son of the late Fred and Lois Govier; devoted father of Danny (Karen) Govier, Scott Govier, and Jackie (Ken) Hannibal; cherished grandfather of Nathan (Megan) Govier, Josh (Beth) Govier, Noah Hannibal, Andrew Hannibal, and Grace Hannibal; treasured great-grandfather of Eliott Govier and Olivia Govier; dear brother of Shirley (Joe) Palmer; loved brother-in-law, uncle, and friend.
Fred was a member at Messiah Lutheran Church. He was employed by Peabody Energy Group for 36 years before retiring. Fred was an avid reader who averaged reading three books a week. He loved to go antique shopping. Fred was National Science Fair winner in high school. He shared his love of technology and reading with his children. Fred was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Fred 's name to Alzheimer's Association.
