Frank L. Walter, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at the age of 78. Loving husband of almost 52 years to JoAnn Walter; beloved son of the late Franz and Anna Walter; devoted father of Dawn Walter, Steve Walter, and Krista (Dan) Cross; cherished grandfather of Luke Cross, Magnus Kloepper, Tate Cross, Scarlett Kloepper, and Chloe Walter.
Frank proudly served his country during the Cold War as a Submariner in the United States Navy. He retired after more than 40 years as a mechanical engineer, and during his career with RC Can/Boise Cascade Co. he was involved in the design and production of the Pringles Potato Chip Can.
Frank enjoyed tinkering and collecting spare parts and tools, and he rebuilt a 1968 Chevy Corvette. He looked forward to sitting outside with his dogs every night and taking in the view of his yard. He was very talented and learned to play the guitar after he retired. He also enjoyed going to the O’Fallon Senior Center to play pool. More than anything, Frank loved spending time with his grandkids and going to their sporting events and activities. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
