Francis E. “Frank” Gierer

Gierer, Francis E. 'Frank', of Maryland Heights, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at home at the age of 87. Loving husband of Linda M. Gierer; beloved son of the late Francis A. Gierer and Cecilia Gierer; devoted father of Margie (Bob) Laurent, Tony Gierer, Sharon (Don) Puckett, Michelle (Michel) Bédard, Charles (Shelley) Porter, and the late Joseph E. Porter; dear brother of Howard Gierer and the late Harold "Buddy" Gierer; cherished grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather to many. Frank was a WWII Navy Veteran serving in the Pacific on the USS Missouri. He retired after many years of work as a Machinist, lastly working for McDonnell Douglas for over 10 years. Frank enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, and was an excellent machinist. Frank loved his kids and grandkids most of all. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
