Evelyn B. Austin

Evelyn B. Austin (nee: Meyerkord), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the age of 85. Cherished daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Meyerkord; devoted mother of Charlene Austin Thrasher, Cheryl (Larry) Austin Blackson Lehmkuhl, Charles S. (Stacey) Austin, Jr., Carey (Debra) Austin, and Christopher (Mary) Austin; loving grandmother of 18; treasured great-grandmother of 24; and dear sister of George Meyerkord. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary and her son-in-law, Dr. Kyle Scott Thrasher and her former husbands, Charles S. Austin, Sr. and Charles "Mac" McLaughlin.
Evelyn was a strong animal advocate and was a member of PETA. She adored her African grey parrot, Pepper who is 10 years-old and her German Shepherd, Anubis. In her free time, Evelyn also enjoyed crafting and antiquing. She was deeply loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an animal rescue organization of the donor's choice.
