Eugenia “Ann” Halterman

Eugenia "Ann" Halterman (nee Weigel) of O’fallon, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO was born September 14, 1947 in to the late Alfred and Gene Elaine (Minor) Weigel. On January 9, 1971 she was united in marriage to her loving husband Michael W. Halterman in Kirksville, MO while they were still in college. To this union her only daughter was born; Meredith and her husband Jeff Young, two beautiful granddaughters; Kaitlyn Young and Kaylee Young, Four siblings; Carole Lakey and husband Randy, Alfred "Fred" Weigel and wife Chris, John Weigel and wife Laura and Melissa Tritsch and husband Steve; Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by her two brothers; Chris Weigel and Michael Weigel.

Ann was a very devout Catholic. She a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Dardenne Prairie for the last three years and was a member of the Holy Family parish in Kansas City North for 24 years. At the young age of sixteen, although she did not take her final vows, Ann (Sister Marie Denise) belonged to the Franciscan Sisters in Maryville for six years.

Ann was diagnosed with Addison's Disease for 43 years and 20 years ago suffered a heart attack which started to limit her but it never lightened her spirits she always put others first before herself. Ann always tried to set an example on how one should live their life. She lived her life the same, she was always humble, kind and showed dignity and love towards anyone that she met. She remained true to all of these even until she passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday morning.

Ann was a loving wife, devoted mother, and most of all loved being Nana to her two amazing granddaughters. Ann had a heart of gold and she was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed.
