Ellalee “Mitzie” B. Shaw

August 26, 1945 — August 14, 2013

Ellalee 'Mitzie' B. Shaw, 67, of St. Peters, Missouri, was carried home by her Lord and Savior in the presence of family on August 14, 2013, after a life well lived. She was born on August 26, 1945, in St. Louis to the late Edwin and Velma Daniel.
As a baby, family would call her 'Little Missy,' but her two-year-old brother, Robert Daniel, couldn't quite manage to pronounce those Ss, thus she lovingly adopted the name Mitzie.
Mitzie was a graduate of Normandy High School and attended Missouri Baptist College. She retired from the St. Charles City-County Library District Offices. Before that, she worked for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis where she met, and fell in love with, her husband Kenneth 'Ron' Shaw. They were married at Glen Echo Baptist Church in St. Louis on August 3, 1968.
She loved and served the Lord, always, and was active in children's ministry. Mitzie was an original member of Cave Springs Baptist Church in St. Charles, and more recently attended Harvester Christian Church, St. Charles.
Mitzie enjoyed traveling with her husband, either by car or in their motorhome, to the smokey mountains, NASCAR races and Daniel O'Donnell concerts.
Family was the only thing of importance to her, and she didn't want anything until her family was taken care of. She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Bankston. She is survived by her husband, Ron; her children Kimberly and Ken; her granddog, Goliath; family by heart Sarah Mueller and her children Kelsey, Nick, Chris and Jacob; sisters Rosemary Morris and Edwina Farris; and brother Robert Daniel (Linda). She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials may be made to Friends of the Library.
