Elizabeth “Joy” Smith

Elizabeth “Joy” Smith (nee Worley), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018, at the age of 88. Loving wife of Avery L. Smith; beloved daughter of the late Roy and Opal Worley; devoted mother of Jeff (Donna) Smith and Beth (Charles) Imel; cherished grandmother of Alissa Imel, Josh Smith, and Michael Smith; treasured aunt of Barb McDowell, Stephen Worley, and Sandra Scully. Joy is preceded in death by her brother, William "Bill" Worley.

Joy was a member of the Eastern Star for 50 years, life member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, and member of First Baptist Church in Lake Saint Louis. Joy worked as a teacher in the Normandy School District and retired after 30 years of teaching. She loved flowers and was an avid gardener. Most of all, Joy loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
