Eleanor J. West

Eleanor Jordan West, of Florissant, MO, formerly Cape Canaveral, FL, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the age of 96.  Beloved daughter of the late Eric and Mildred Pierce; devoted mother of the late Maureen Gilbert and the late Nancy (Garry) Beucke; cherished grandmother of Derek Beucke, Ashley Beucke and Jared (Michelle) Beucke; treasured great-grandmother of DeShaun Cruse, Ella Beucke, Caroline Beucke, Kirstin Redden and Hannah Beucke; dear sister of Rebecca Sargent, the late Barbara Stancel, and the late Robert Pierce.

Eleanor retired after more than 20 years with McDonnell Douglas.  After retirement she moved to Florida to have fun in the sun and stay active with her friends.  She also volunteered at the Space Center and had a huge collection of items from her time over the years with NASA.

Eleanor was a member of Eastern Star and Red Hats Society.  She traveled all over the world, and especially loved to visit England, New Zealand, and Australia.  She also enjoyed going on adventurous cruises with her friends.  Eleanor was very active in her community and played bingo, dominoes, cards, and going out for field trips with the other residents.  Eleanor was also a huge St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan who always watched their games, and she had fun going to their spring training games in Florida.

More than anything else, Eleanor loved her family and always looked forward to her grandkids visiting her in Florida.  She valued her family history and served on the board for the Jordan family genealogy.  She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial contributions may be made in Eleanor's name to Susan G. Komen Foundation.
