Edwin “Bud” Lester, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 84. Beloved and devoted husband of Tomasina (“Tommie”) Lester; cherished son of the late Edwin A. Sr., and Ethel Lester; devoted father of Cindy (Chris) Cook, Beth (Kelly) Wiesbrock, Victoria Lester-Saura, and Thomas (Jacqueline) Lester; loving grandfather of Curtis Cook, Cassara Cook, Cole Cook, Nicholas Wiesbrock, Katherine Wiesbrock, Caroline Wiesbrock, Marc Saura, Elizabeth Wiesbrock, Zoe Lester and Graycen Lester; dear brother of the late Vivian Uhlhorn, the late Penelope Kiernan, the late Burdeen Wright and the late Doris Morse; much-loved brother-in-law of Jacqueline (the late Harprit) Gill, the late Patricia (the late Timothy) Dorsey and Judith (William) Flynn.
Bud served proudly and honorably in the United States Army including a tour of duty in Germany from 1956-1959. After completing his military service, Bud returned to Pearl River, New York to marry his high school sweetheart and they were married for 59 years. He held numerous executive positions throughout his long career, most recently as the Donations Manager for Lion’s Club International Foundation headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Bud was the proud pack leader to Caper, Beau, Akane and Mizu, was an avid reader, a WWII and civil war history buff, and enjoyed woodworking and cooking. Most of all, Bud loved people and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
