Edward J. Swain

Edward “Ed” Jude Swain, of Wentzville, MO, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the age of 76. Loving husband of Beverly Swain of 53 years; beloved son of the late Aurelio and Antonia Swain; devoted father of Jason (Cindy) Swain, Dusty (Mike) Knackstedt and Devon (Steven) Weiler; father-in-law of Dan Terry; cherished grandfather of Beverly Terry, Rebecca (Cameron) Kopecky, Jason Terry, David Terry, Emily Swain, Rachel Swain, Nathan Swain, Marley Knackstedt, Isabella Weiler, Elliana Weiler, Adelina Weiler, and Monroe Weiler; treasured great-grandfather of Sophia Kopecky; dear brother of Al (Pat) Swain and Virginia (the late Walter) Ruesch; brother in-law to Robert (the late Marcia) West and Michelle (Tim) Sargent; uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Edward is also preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Terry; brother, Bob Swain; and grandson, Jacob Swain.

Ed was a faithful man who was committed to the church and his family. He was very family oriented and was supportive of his children and grandchildren. Ed enjoyed going to the Muny and the St. Louis Zoo. He spent many years making wonderful memories with his family through travel and camping. Ed was very athletic, and he liked to box, bike, run, play softball and workout. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Josephville and the Sheriff Reserves in St. Charles. Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an intelligent man who spent many years as a Network Analyst at SmithKline Beechem. Most of all, Ed was dedicated to his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Ed was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
