Edna F. Ahrens of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday, July 8, 2021.  Loving wife of Tom Ahrens; beloved daughter of the late Charles and Betty Johnston; devoted mother of Jonathan (Jennifer) Giallanzo and Joanne Block; cherished grandmother of Charles Giallanzo, Annabella Giallanzo, Emily Leonard, Meghan Block, and Quinn Ahrens; dear sister of Ruth (the late Danny) O'Gallagher and the late William Johnston; and sister-in-law of Joan Johnston.

Edna is also survived by Tom’s children, Rachael Hemann, Amy Tatum, Becky Ahrens, and Patrick (Tracy) Ahrens.

Edna retired after more than 40 years in the secretarial field.  She enjoyed her co-workers and customers she worked with at the various companies throughout her career.

Edna was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed watching their games on TV.  She was also fond of movies and had a keen interest in history.  She was an avid reader, and always shared with her grandchildren her love of reading, which encouraged them to develop their love of reading as well.  She liked to entertain her friends and family, and always cooked up a delicious meal.  Edna had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved cats, Ricky and Aruba.

Above all else, Edna treasured her family and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed fun outings with them to the zoo, and she always looked forward to their birthday parties.

Edna was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Memorial contributions may be made in Edna's name to the American Cancer Society.

Baue Funeral Homes is currently following CDC recommendations regarding mask and social distancing policies.
