Earl F. Burkhardt of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 91 on Saturday, December 8, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Adele (nee Stroh) Burkhardt; and his sisters, Ruth Tesreau and Lucille Husemann.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susie Burkhardt (nee Vogel); his sons, Doug (Kris) and Bob (Lynne) Burkhardt; his precious grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) Tibbs, Danielle (Rob) Wingel, Katie Burkhardt, and Brett Burkhardt; his great-grandchildren, Camryn and Addison Tibbs; and he was an uncle and dear friend to many.
Earl was a faithful Christian man who read his bible daily. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and belonged to the Commemorative Air Force, an organization devoted to preserving and showing American aviation history – a cause near and dear to his heart as he had his pilot’s license. He kept active in many local organizations including the Immanuel United Church of Christ Ferguson, the St. Louis Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow, Shriners International, and the Bogey Hills Country Club. Earl was an avid sports fan and in addition to bowling and hitting the links for a round of golf, he loved cheering his St. Louis Cardinals on. He enjoyed reading but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Earl will be dearly missed.
