    candle 8Melba and family,
So sorry to learn of the passing of Bob. Needless to say the sorrow is felt by many. His spirit as chair was a guiding light for me as his fellow-chair. I learned that all things were: “all but done”. He blessed us with his presence and perseverance. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. John Overby

A great friend and colleague. The entire Figgins family contributed so much to the Martin Community and to the University.

Bob was as close to a brother as I will ever have. He has been a part of my life for as long as I’ve been alive (four years older than me). I have never faced a world without Bob in it. All I can say is that it will be darker and a lot less fun. Be at peace, Bob.

candle 1To Melba and all of the Figgins family–My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. I had the pleasure of working for Dr. Figgins (still can’t call him Bob) for several years. He was the best boss I’ve ever had and always made me feel like a member of your family. The impact he had on people will be felt for years to come. Melba, I still remember when John sent me flowers for our anniversary and Dr. Figgins thought he had forgotten your anniversary. It took me an hour to convince him that it really was my anniversary too. So many good times…I know you will all miss him so much. Honestly, until now, I didn’t realize how much I’ve missed him. Remember all the good times, I know there were many. All my love, Debbie Harris

candle 3Melba, Not knowing how else to contact you, I apologize for not attending the memorial service for Bob this morning. Tammy and I had planned to attend, but I awoke with a sinus infection that has my head aching, stiff neck and not feeling my best. Bob, you, and the family have been on my mind all this week with the pending common birthday of Bob and me yesterday. After a cup of coffee yesterday, I sang Happy Birthday to Bob for :old times sake”. Please know that Bob is fully on my mind today.
