Dr. Bob G. Figgins

Dr. Bob G. Figgins, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born in Caruthersville, Missouri, January 17, 1940 and was loving husband of 54 years to Melba Figgins; beloved son of the late Glen and Laura Figgins; devoted father of Anne (Michael) Schoch, Robert (Carissa) Figgins and Michael (Ember) Figgins; cherished grandfather of Emma, Chloe, Samuel, Lily, Nicholas, and Alexander; Bob is also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Figgins and J.W. Figgins..

Bob was a dedicated college professor at the University of Tennessee at Martin. He taught for 46 years and served as the Chairman of the Economics and Finance Department for 34 years. He was a devoted member of the Martin Church of Christ in Martin Tennessee for 44 years and the O’Fallon Church of Christ in O’Fallon, Missouri for two years.

Family meant everything to Bob. He was a supportive father, and an enthusiastic soccer coach, teller of bad jokes and knew the Bible inside and out. Bob cherished his family, especially his grandchildren. He built the family home and instilled a foundation of faith, love and passion of education to his family. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

The second way is online. Go to alumni.utm.edu. In upper right corner, and select make a gift. Under select an area of support, select Search for College, School or Preferred Fund, and type Figgins in search box, and select the award.
