Deidre “Granny” Jeanene Leitman

Deidre “Granny” Jeanene Leitman (nee Lavy), of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Paul Leitman; cherished daughter of the late Marion and Hubert Lavy. Devoted mother of David (Connie) Leitman, Deborah (Chris) Schimweg, and Diana VanPelt; loving grandmother of Monica (Michael) Hewitt, David Leitman, II, Matthew Schimweg, Eric Leitman, and Daniel Schimweg; great-grandmother of Avery, Milana and June; dear sister of Hubert (Sharon) Lavy; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Deidre is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim VanPelt; her two brothers, Kenneth "Dale" Lavy and Gerald "LeRoy" Lavy; and her sister, Wanda Williamson.

Deidre was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Charles, The Circle, SSM Auxiliary, Silver Dollar City Artist Guild, and was the manager of Patterson Nursery Schools for over 30 years, She loved her Red Hats, was a world traveler, and mostly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their events. Deidre was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorials may be made in Deidre's name to the Backpack Impact Program at the First United Methodist Church to help feed hungry children in our local school district.
