Debbie Gilbert, (nee Johnson) of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Saturday, November 16th, 2019 at the age of 55. Loving wife of Louie Gilbert; cherished daughter of Glenda Nanney and James "Jim" (Ann) Johnson; devoted mother of Kelsey (Kyle) Caldwell and Dylan Gilbert; dear sister of Karen Johnson and Tina Johnson; treasured daughter-in-law of Wayne and Peggy Gilbert; and beloved sister-in-law, niece, aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Debbie enjoyed traveling around the country on the back of a Harley Davidson and relaxing under an umbrella at the beach. Her family meant the world to her. She gave and loved so selflessly that she always put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and cherished her. She forever is our warrior.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Friends of Kids with Cancer, two organizations very dear to Debbie's heart.

Celebration of Life Gathering in Debbie's memory will be held on Tuesday, November 26th from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Baue Funeral and Memorial Center, 3950 W. Clay St, St. Charles, MO.

candle 4There is no doubt that Debbie was a strong lady. Her spirit was very loving, her smile was always beautiful and her attitude was always positive. Debbie was a quiet lady but you could feel her inner strength just by talking with her. Her love and commitment to her family was part of who she was and was evident in everything she did for them. For Debbie, I am glad that her mission here on Earth is complete and she will never feel pain again. For us, there will be a missing piece that can never be replaced, however, we can always think of her with fondness and remember her strength and compassion. Louie, Kelsey and Dylan, please know that we love you very much and pray for you during this time. May you find strength in your memories and peace in knowing that there is a new angel in Heaven watching over all of you.

candle 3Debbie showed strength and courage through it all but she was SO MUCH MORE than what she battled in the end…. she was caring, thoughtful, loving, giving and kind to the people she loved and cared about and who loved her. This world will be a different world without her but the memories and love she left behind will be greatly embraced for the time that she was here with us and am so proud to say she was a part of our family. She will forever be missed.

I will always cherish the beautiful and fun memories of Debbie, especially her shy and sweet laugh, during our family gatherings throughout our lives. I am so thankful that we were able to spend time together, even when miles across the area, across the state, and across the country got in the way. I will miss my wonderful cousin dearly. Uncle Jim, Aunt Glenda, Karen, Tina, Louie, Kelsey, and Dylan – I am so sorry that Debbie was taken from you and all of us so early. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers. ~ Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
