Colleen Bartlett of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 67 on Saturday, September 5, 2020. She is survived by her beloved husband of 44 years, Ray Bartlett; her children, Josh Bartlett, Emily (Alex) Jeffries, and Mary (Kyle) Martin; her grandchildren, Ethan, Madeline, Mia, Elijah, Molly, Aubrey, Hudson, and Ashton; her siblings, Peggy (Jim) Jacobs, James (Donna) Killmade, Tom (Mary) Killmade, Kay (Bruce) Dresner, and Ellen (Kenny) Morrow; and her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Colleen is preceded in death by her parents, James and Tess Killmade.

Colleen’s faith was always important to her and she loved her connection to her faith and the Catholic Church. She enjoyed being active in her church community and attended Bible study regularly, treasuring the opportunity to deepen her faith and make friendships with others. There was a special place in Colleen’s heart for music. She belonged to the St. Peter’s Choral Society and had fond memories of participating in plays during her school years. For fun, Colleen liked to travel to warm and sunny places to enjoy a relaxing vacation with her loved ones, plant her yearly flower garden and show her patriotism. Those who knew Colleen knew her quick wit and kind and encouraging words. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial contributions in Colleen’s name may be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.

Ray and Family, Colleen was a very special friend. We kept in touch throughout her battle and she would call, or I would visit when she felt up to it. She was my “singing buddy” in the St. Peters choral society. She was such a beautiful person. You all are in my prayers,

candle 5My heart broke into a million pieces when my daughter shared Emily’s FB post with me on Sunday. If I’d only known. Colleen and I carpooled with our kids to St Cletus during those early days. She and I connected in so many ways as mothers. Colleen was also there during a very difficult time in life for me. I’ll never forget our day after Thanksgiving shopping trip to the Galleria. It was then and there that Colleen introduced me to Starbucks caramel macchiato! We had so much fun. Once I moved and life got in the way for both of us, we lost touch. A regret I carry to this day. I will always carry her in my heart. My love and deepest, deepest sympathy to all of you… Ray, Josh, Emily and Mary. May God comfort and sustain you at this very sad time. I pray that your tears will turn into smiles soon, every time you re-live your memories. Colleen will always be with you.

    Ray–
How terrible to lose your beloved Colleen at such a young age. My heart goes out to you and your children.

Colleen’s caring for her Aunt Rosemary in her difficult last years exemplifies what a wonderful human being has unfortunately departed this earth prematurely.

May over time, happy memories come to replace the gut-wrenching grief you are now experiencing.

candle 5Ray and family: I am heartbroken for you all to hear this news of your sweet Colleen’s passing. Your comfort has to be knowing you will be reunited in spirit with Colleen one day in Heaven, but until then, the days and months ahead will be a challenge and I will be praying for you all to have a supernatural peace, as there is no question you will deeply miss her presence in your lives…such a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend she was to many. She and I used to have very special and deep conversations about our faith in Jesus and loved knowing we are “sisters” in the Lord- I have such precious memories of those very special conversations with Colleen. Colleen is surely rejoicing with the angels and in the presence of Our Savior, Jesus.

    Ray and family,
I am so sorry to learn of Colleen’s passing. She lived a faith filled life and was an inspiration to me. I was in awe at her knowledge and insights of scriptures and so enjoyed participating in scripture studies with her. She had the ability to not only touch the life of those who knew her but to leave a bit of herself. I treasure having known Colleen and will miss her.
My prayers for you and your family.
