I remembered your birthday on the 27th, Chase! I lit you a candle but it was in my search to see if your obituary was still online that I found this to leave a memory. I can’t believe it’s been 8 years tomorrow since your death. I actually still think of you a lot. You were one of my greatest friend in 7th grade, when I was a bit of an outcast. You’d tease me over forgetting my braces rubber bands on the forks at lunch. Great times. I hope wherever your spirit is now is restful. Look for the helium balloon I am releasing! I send you one every year. I wish I could put flowers but he DQ at the site of your accident, but obviously I am still too far. I know we were not super close when you died, but I still cherished you. Rest Well, Chase! Jessie (Everingham) Celum

I was never formally introduced to Chase. He was always the boy I passed when I was taking a walk through the neighborhood, or the boy I saw riding his bike everytime I came home from school. He lived right up the street from me, by my friend, Aaron, who told me alot about Chase and how they were best friends and about all the fun they had together back in the day. Chase sounded like an awesome person, and I always wanted to get to know him, but I could never get myself to talk to him when I got the chance. Now, I regret it. I really wish I could have gotten to know him, because he has already changed my life for good. I’m praying SO hard for Chase’s family all the time, because this has got to be so hard for them, losing such an amazing part of their life. You never really realize how much someone means to you until something like this happens. “Only the good die young,” and Chase is a PERFECT example of that. Chase’s family, I’m praying for you and I hope everything goes okay. God is there for you, and I’m sure he has a plan for Chase. 🙂 Chase is watching over you now. I miss him so much already. I miss just seeing him riding his bike by my house. It just won’t feel the same without him.

Not everyday do you get to come home to hear that a close friend has died, but you just got to keep going and stand strong, just as Chase did every moment of his life. He was a very amazing, unique individual, he always had his own way of doing things but he always got it done. We were so close until a few years ago when High School started. Our dreams were always the same, we had the same toys, and games. If one got something new, then the other one of us got the same thing. Everyday we’d sit there wondering how the rest of our lives would be or how amazing things could be if there was magic. Chase and I would stay up all hours of the night talking about just random things going on but we would also see who would fall asleep first, of course Chase always won, he had the will power of no other. His dad, Chuck, often took us to Dave ‘n’ Busters and we played games to see who had the most tickets, it was usually a close one. We had so many good times. He never deserved any of this. Out of all people it had to be a loving kid with a good sense of humor who never did anything wrong Chase is the last person i think would have to go at such of a young age. I wish over the last few years I wouldn’t have strayed from him, but you never know the fonder things in life until they are gone. Chase was most definitly one of the most fondest things in my life. My prayers and thought are definitly with you and the rest of your relatives. Chase was a great kid and a best friend. He will be missed so much by me and everyone else who was ever touched by his presence.

Chase was a neighbor, and a friend to the kids. It was a shame that it had to be chase and many people are taking it hard. He was one of the kids first friends when we moved here. He will be missed by us all and our deepest appologies to the family.
