Charles William “Bill” Coan of Lake Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018, at the age of 82.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth Ann Coan; cherished son of the late Charles and Caroline Disser Coan; devoted father of Tammy Lough, step-daughter Lori (Greg) Camden, step-son Brad (Cindy) Garrett; longtime beloved companion Dorothy "Dot" Burgardt; loving grandfather of Jason, Max, David, Christopher, Mike, Matt, Tom, Jessica, and Jake; treasured great-grandfather of Brayden, Payton, Riley, Brianna, Mason, Mikayla, Aurora, Jackson, and Lincoln; dear brother of James "Jim" Coan and companion Juanita, also survived by his first wife, Marjorie Rastberger.
Bill is preceded in death by his son, Kelly (Wendy) Coan, brother Tom Coan (Betty), sister Mary Rudolphi (Rudolph "Rudy"), and sister-in-law Sandy Coan.
Bill began his career at Ozark Airlines, March 9, 1959. He worked at Ozark many years before they merged with American Airlines & TWA. He was the ultimate handyman who could fix anything. He enjoyed airplanes, cars (especially Corvettes), and spending time outdoors. After retiring from the airlines, Bill worked as an aviation consultant and independent contractor. Bill was a man of steadfast integrity and dearly loved by his entire family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
