Charles "Charlie" Lawrence Kaufman, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at the age of 88. Loving husband of Lylah Kaufman for 63 years; beloved son of the late Lawrence and Eleanor Kaufman; devoted father of Daniel (Joan) Kaufman, Michael (Karrie) Kaufman, Diane (John) Vallentine, James (Diane) Kaufman, and Patrick (Brenda) Kaufman; cherished grandfather of Erin (Josh) McMillian, Devon (Greg) Thornton, Tara (Jake) Welnick, Clayton Kaufman, Cori (Kristina) Vallentine, Nicole (Alek) Davis, Stefan Vallentine, Mallory Vallentine, Derek Kaufman, Jacob Kaufman, Molly Kaufman, Coleman Kaufman, and Lucille Kaufman; treasured great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Evelyn, Joseph, Austin, Allison, Harper, Charlee, and Bryson; and dear brother of Eugene Kaufman. Charlie is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Bushur.
Charlie was a founding member at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and a member of their 50 Plus Club. He dedicated over 34 years for TWA as a lead inspector mechanic and was a part of the International Association of Machinist Union. After retirement, Charlie enjoyed woodworking and was quite the handyman around the house. He also spent time fishing at Mark Twain Lake and liked to fix up and refurbish tractors. Charlie enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting deer and camping with the family. Family was very cherished to Charlie and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Charlie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
