Billie “Bill” Brown

November 3, 1938 — August 15, 2017

Brown, Billie D. “Bill” of Wentzville, MO, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the age of 78. Beloved high school sweetheart and husband of 60 years to Rosalie Ellen Brown; cherished son of the late William Odis "W.O." and Dora Brown; devoted father of Debbie (Jim) Orf and Gary (Lori) Brown; loving grandfather of Nick, Brian, and Jason Orf, Chelsea (Logan) Thomas, and Josh, Jacob, Joseph, Meredith, James, John, and Maddison Brown; dear sister to Patsy (Zane Caviness) Nelson; and treasured uncle, relative, and friend to many.

After serving proudly in the United States Airforce, Bill worked for Emerson Electric briefly before starting his career with McDonnell Douglas/Boeing. He retired after 28 years as the Logistics Manager of the AV8-B Harrier aircraft program.

Bill was known as a very strong, faithful, and loving Christian man. He served as an elder at Westlake Church of Christ and was completely devoted to his spiritual and earthly family. An astute bible student and dedicated servant of Jesus Christ, he used his humble and loving attitude to teach the gospel to all he came in contact with. He was an excellent example as a husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Bill enjoyed spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends and especially cherished fly-fishing trips with his son and son-in-law. He was a master repairman of all things mechanical and was rarely cheated the satisfaction of fixing it himself. Bill especially enjoyed living in his home in the country for the last 43 years with his beloved Rosalie, feeding the birds, enjoying the quiet, and basking in God’s gift of nature. Bill was immensely loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made to Sacred Selections or Westlake Church of Christ in Wentzville, Missouri.
