Barbara J. Johnson of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Leslie “Floyd” Johnson; and her parents, Roy and Elizabeth Schneider.

Barbara is survived by her children, Michael (Annie) Johnson, Ronald (Jo Ann) Johnson, and Jim (Tricia) Johnson; her grandchildren, Christine Johnson, Megan (Chad) Johnson, Amy (Trevor) Roe, Toni (Tyler) Wagster, Robyn Johnson, Devin (Francesca) Johnson, Brittany Johnson, Collin (Shannon) Johnson, Clayton (Brianna) Johnson, Riley (Hunter) Johnson, Walker Johnson, the late Joseph Johnson, and the late Stephanie Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Maebrie, Dakoda Rose, Teagan, Logan, Colt, Blake, Sarah, Levi.

Barbara was a faithful member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church and she and Floyd had been members since the parish’s founding. She met her husband, Floyd, at the skating rink following his service in the army. They later married and moved to St. Charles together where she stayed home to raise their three sons. After the boys went to school, Barbara worked in medical billing and coding.

She was fond of traveling with her husband and some of their favorite destinations were the Smoky Mountains, Alaska, Hawaii, and several cruises they took. Barbara also enjoyed all the camping trips and fun boating with the family at the Lake of the Ozarks. She cherished the special memories she made with her lifelong best friend of over 80 years and neighbor, Gloria. Barbara especially treasured the time she spent with her eleven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and her eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Memorial contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.

    candle 7To the Johnson Family,
I wanted to say thank you for letting me share your Mom so much while us kids were growing up
I will never forget the great pool days, the great Ping Pong games we had, and the special peanut
butter and jelly sandwiches she used to make us. I would always get just a little more peanut butter than anyone else.
Then she would wink at me. I still love them today.
So very happy she will be with Uncle Floyd.
    All my Love !!!!!!!!

candle 1To the Johnson family: I am so sorry for your loss. I came to visit Ms. Barbara as Mrs. Gloria Pete’s pastor. Although she was not very vocal, I could tell she understood the conversation Mrs. Perry and I was having with her. She had such a sweet spirit and waved “goodbye” to me when I left. May Ms Barbara rest in the peace and power of God. Humbly submitted, Rev Dr. Bella Winters

    Mike, Ron, Jim and Families,
I have so many wonderful memories of your Mom as well as your Dad. A lot of laughter was shared over the years I was blessed to be around all of you. I’ll always remember your Mom hosting my baby shower in the basement of your family home and your Dad stopping me on my way in the subdivision to let me know what was going on in the neighborhood. lol 🙂 I think of both of them often as I pass by the house. I am sure your Mom and Dad are looking over all of you and are so proud of the family they created.
May God give you the strength you need in the days ahead.
Love to you all, Laura Box Forgue
