Barbara A. Prinster

December 6, 1942 — January 24, 2019

Barbara Ann Prinster (nee Modglin), of Dardenne Prairie, MO, went to Heaven, Thursday, January 24, 2019, at the age of 76. Loving wife of 55 years of Paul C. Prinster; beloved daughter of the late Edward D. and Thelma Modglin; devoted mother of Christina Prinster, Cynthia Prinster, Kimberly (Alan) Holton, James (Christine Pykiet) Prinster, and David Prinster (fiancé Mighty Tinambacan); cherished grandmother of Brandon (Zoe) Holton, AJ Holton (fiancé Kim), Haley (Jackson) Rushin, Collin Holton, and Jacob Prinster; treasured great-grandmother of Isla Holton and one on the way. Dear sister of the late Edward L. Modglin. She is also survived by her fur babies, Hank and Cricket, and many grandogs and grandcats.

Barbara (Modglin) Prinster was born and raised in Anna, IL.  She attended Anna-Jonesboro High where she made many lifelong friends that she still kept in contact with.  Barbara loved her home town.  She remained in Anna, IL, until she met her Prince Charming, Paul Prinster, was married, and moved to O'Fallon, MO, where they raised 5 children.

Barbara retired from the Fort Zumwalt school district after 25 years in food service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dardenne Prairie for 55 years and was a member of the Knights of Columbus #2273 and the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree ladies auxiliary of St. Philippine Duchesne #571.

Barbara was an amazing lady with a beautiful soul. She had a heart of gold and will be remembered for her loving spirit, big smile, great stories and contagious laughter. Even when she was fighting through her health issues, Barbara always made light of it and didn’t let it slow her down. She always fought and got back up with her loving husband right by her side. Barbara loved spending time with her friends and was always willing to help anyone in need. Most importantly, Barbara dearly loved her husband, children and grandchildren. She was always her children and grandchildren’s number one fan. She will always be remembered for how big she loved and how big she was loved.

Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s honor to St. Luke's Hospital or to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Dardenne Prairie.

Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has shared prayers, warm thoughts, and sympathy before and during their time of grief. Our Family would also like to share a special thank you to all the staff of St. Luke's Hospital: to the medical staff for their exceptional care and treatment during Barbara's stay in the Cardiac ICU, Cath Lab, and 6700; to the cleaning staff who went above and beyond to check on Barbara's family in ICU waiting room during her stay; to the pastoral care team who encouraged and prayed with Barbara's family; and to the kind cafeteria employees who treated the Prinster Family as part of their own.  Thank You to all of you!
