It was a party each and every time David and Ann came to the office–no matter how serious the situation. David had a way of seeing the bigger picture, knowing how to deal with it, being fair to everyone, and never forgetting to laugh. I’ve never known anyone like him. I’ll never forget watching David and Olive Brune (who was in her 80’s at the time) holding hands and skipping like two little kids across Grand Avenue in South St. Louis.

Great memories of a great man.

Dear Annie, Girls and extended family, my deepest, sincere condolences and prayers to all of you at this time. Mr. T and I go way back as I have so many fun, loving, happy, memories of your always on the go, go to, devoted Husband, Daddy, Family man and Friend! His was the Captain of the ship and kept things rocking and rolling without a hitch! We would be rolling on the river or sitting on the dock of the bay with Al Greene, Motown, etc., playing in the background. Daddy Dave would be singing, laughing or dancing with his beautiful bride by his side or one of his gorgeous girls giggling right next to him. If Captain Dave wasn’t on the boat then he was taking care of business, which to little girls seemed like fun as we drove all around the Lou with him as he still laughed, sang, and rubbed those hands together in excitement like he did! I thought he had so many friends as we met many people on those rides who all loved Mr. T (aka: landlord) who was kind to all. Those rides also included seeing his parents, relatives and eating a lot of yummy fried chicken from the place near by. My childhood was amazing because a man like Dave Tilley who drove to the Quick Shop in his pj’s to get his Post-Dispatch made sure that anyone who was able to be in his circle would be cared for just like one of his own. I loved being a part of your crew back in the day Dave Tilley. You are a lighthouse in my heart that will forever remain bright as I will always have a place for you Capt. Dave and the memories of the many times spent with you and your mates! As your family continues to sail on I know you will still be right there, guiding, loving and leading their way for you remain strong within them and they will see your light, love and laughter carry them in a special way. Shine On Dave Tilley, forever my special friend…. Shine On…

candle 3Where have all the years gone. It seems like a few years ago, we were cousins playing together in your yard. You were always the cool cousin who knew his way around St. Louis, enjoying life and encompassing everyone with your great sense of humor.
You have influenced three generations, your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many friends with your generous spirit and those lives are better because you loved and cared for each one.
Annie, may God comfort you, give you peace and understanding during this very sad time in your life.
    Sincerely, Linda and Bob Perry
