Dale Robert Scheffler

Scheffler, Dale Robert, of Wentzville, Missouri, was called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at the age of 97.  He was born April 25, 1919 in Madison, Nebraska to Carl and Anna Scheffler, the youngest of 5 brothers.

Dale attended Liberty Consolidated High School in Madison and graduated with the class of 1936. Following high school, he took up farming until he received his calling to ministry. He furthered his education at Nebraska Christian College and Norfolk Junior College and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ministry. He then worked toward his Masters at Lincoln Christian Seminary from 1955 to 1957.

On August 25, 1947, Dale married Doris Keeney in Minneapolis, MN. Of their union, two sons were born, Stephen and William. They were blessed with 30 precious years of Christian marriage before her death from cancer at the age of 49. Dale then met and married Genevie Baker in Florissant, MO. They spent 34 years together in another precious Christian marriage before her death in 2013. God was instrumental in both of Dale’s marriages.

In his 69 years as a pastor, Dale served the churches in the following communities: Burwell, NE, Ord, NE, Clay City, IL, Homer, IL, Oshkosh, WI, Clare, MI, Wheatland, WY, Des Moines, IA, Ferguson, MO, and Ballwin, MO. After his retirement as full time pastor, he moved to Wentzville, MO and became the visitation pastor at Chapel of the Lake in Lake Saint Louis, MO, where he served for over 15 years.

He is survived by his sons: Stephen L. (Laura) Scheffler and William D. Scheffler; step-children: Terry Baker and Glenda (Norbert) Bradley; grandchildren: Heather Scheffler, and Jeffrey (Sheri) Scheffler; step-grandchildren: Lora (Scott) Schultz, Susie (Joe) Benjamin, Jon (Kathleen) Baker, Jason Baker, and Julie Baker; four great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
