William J. Xander
August 14, 1928 — July 22, 2021
William J. Xander of St Charles, MO, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the age of 92. Loving husband of the late Sophie Xander; beloved son of the late William C. Xander and Olga Burns; devoted father of Judy Schaumberg, Mark (Nancy) Xander, and Susan Horn; cherished grandfather of Zachary and Andrew Horn; dear brother of Ronald (Judy) Burns; loving companion of Sandra Bornmann; and friend to many.
William proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion post 312. William was an avid sports fan and never missed a game whether it be his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Blues, or Mizzou basketball.
Faith was a huge part of William’s life. At Our Savior Lutheran Church, he served as an elder and later became a trustee. William adored his late wife of 63 years, Sophie. He is remembered as a kind and caring individual.
William was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
