William “Bill” Banmiller

November 23, 1942 — March 14, 2020

William “Bill” Banmiller, of Weldon Spring, Missouri passed away peacefully on March 14th, 2020. He is survived by Mary (née Baker), his wife of 31 years, and his daughters Susan (Martin) Diehl of Imperial and Jill Yesko, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his brother Gerard (Fran) Banmiller; his grandchildren, Phillip Diehl, Paige (Alex) Davis, Nathan Yesko and Mary Yesko. Bill spent his professional career in the hospitality industry as a General Manager of hotels and resorts in the U.S. and West Indies, then in commercial real estate until his retirement.

He was a native of Norristown, Pennsylvania, and a proud Alumni of Villanova University. His hobbies were many, but he especially enjoyed restoring, showing and driving classic sports cars. He was able to spend his retirement years following several altruistic pursuits, participating on many boards such as the Foundry Arts Center and volunteering as a patient Ambassador for SSM St. Joseph’s in St. Charles. Bill was passionate about dogs, and lovingly cared for many rescued pets at the Five Acres Animal Shelter.

Bill was an ardent storyteller, frequently regaling his family and friends with stories from his younger years as a lifeguard, of his days of proudly marching with his tuba in the Villanova band, and his adventures in the West Indies managing a resort with his wife in the 90’s. He loved life, Beethoven, great food (especially sweets), chess, setting off fireworks, Rocky Patel cigars, skiing with the Baker family, dancing with Mary and traveling the world. His greatest loves, however, were his wife, his children and his grandchildren. He never missed a moment of their lives - school plays, track meets, soccer games, graduation ceremonies, weddings - he was always present.
