Wayne Martin Schimmel

Wayne Martin Schimmel, age 69, of Winfield, MO passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017. Beloved husband of 48 years to Mary Jean Schimmel; devoted father of Matthew (Amanda) Schimmel and the late Patrick W. Schimmel; dear brother of Robert Schimmel of St. Augustine, FL, Bryan Schimmel of Milford, PA, and the late Delores Johnson; and treasured cousin of Lee Schimmel of Moorestown, NJ.
Wayne was born February 2, 1948 in Dover, NJ to the late Robert and Irma Schimmel. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines and was a member of the Marine Corp. League 725 and the VFW Post 5351 in Whippany, NJ. Wayne moved to Missouri from New Jersey in 1977 after taking a job as a Senior Tool Design Engineer with McDonnell Douglas. He had a strong work ethic and dedication to his career, and enjoyed working with the airplanes. He retired after a lengthy career in 2014. Wayne was also a Conductor for the Boeing Railroad Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed building model trains, photography, wood working, and being outdoors. He was a Boy Scout Leader for Troop 995 of Old Monroe from 1998 to 2006. More than anything, he enjoyed the time spent with his family. Wayne was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him.
