Johnson, Vernon C., of O'Fallon, Missouri, died on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the age of 94. Loving husband of the late Verneal E. Johnson (nee: Smith); beloved son of the late Charles and Phronia Johnson; devoted father of Patricia (Nelson) Richter, Timothy (Gayle) Johnson, Michael (Christine) Johnson, Daniel Johnson, and John Johnson; cherished grandfather of Heather (Doug) Kiley, Laura (John) Thomas, Matt Johnson, Stacey Hollman, Kelly (Antquone) Jefferson, Michael (Claudine) Johnson, Katherine Johnson, Jennifer Johnson, Joseph (Ashley) Johnson, Jason (Anna) Johnson, Jessica (Jason) Flannery, Shawn Bogener and Jessie Hopkins; treasured great-grandfather of Sam, Spencer, Harry, Molly, Devon, Brendon, Alex, Adian, Monica, Kayla, Dreanna, Grace, Seth, Derek, Elizabeth, and Payton; dear sister of Katie Wampler. He is preceded in death by his siblings Harry, Glen, Joseph, and Norval Johnson, and Nellie Schmidt. Vernon was a member of the National Rifle Association and a Life Member.
