Timothy Michael McCafferty

Timothy Michael McCafferty of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at the age of 75. Beloved husband of his high school sweet heart, Janet McCafferty(Nee Hankey) of over 56 years; cherished son of the late Luther “Mac” Durwood and Mary Catherine McCafferty(nee Barton); devoted father of Barb Hagan, Chrissy (Steven) Jeune, and Denise (Andy) Austin; loving grandfather of Ashley (Brian) Miller, Andrew (Sophia) Austin, Jennica Hagan, Alek Austin, Ashton Austin, Tim Hagan, and Bonnie Jeune; loving great-grandfather of Shyanne Miller, Lilly Miller, and Gracie Miller; dear brother of Carol (Dr. Steve) Furjes, and Lee McCafferty; treasured uncle, cousin, and friend to many.

Tim is also preceded in death by his sisters, Kathleen Talbert and Dr. Patricia McCafferty.

Tim proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Navy, where he was part of the United States Naval Construction Battalions, known as the Seabees, which is the Naval Construction Force (NCF) of the United States Navy. He served during the time of the Bay of Pigs Crisis. Tim was a member of the IATSE Local 143 where he worked as a projectionist for many years and later served as president and business agent. He was also a member of Church of Christ in St. Peters, Missouri and in his youth, was a part of the Local Union 655. Tim was a jack-of-all trades and was a handyman around the house. He was a talented restoration expert and woodworker, who was able to work on anything. Tim’s passion lied in train collecting and restoration and building his street rods, but most of all, he was proud of his family. He was a devoted husband and father and loving gramps. Tim was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Tim's name to the Diabetes Association or to Fairhaven Children’s Home.
