Therese Marie Bower

Therese M. Bower, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday December 7, 2020, at the age of 57. Loving wife of Timothy Bower; beloved daughter of Bonnie and the late Maurice Wischmeyer; devoted mother of Erik Bower and Lauren Bower; cherished sister of Deborah (Douglas) Lee, Pamela (Vaughn) Joslyn, Patricia (Earl) VanOpstall, Joan (David) Jones, and Brian (Karen) Wischmeyer; adored daughter in-law of Patricia and the late Forrest Bower; sister in-law of Keith Bower; dear aunt and cousin to many.

Therese came from a family who took many road trips, in which they were well documented by cameras. She grew up with siblings who became avid volleyball players alongside her, which led her to play volleyball at Grand Valley State College. During her years in college, she met her future husband who she would later move to Missouri to be with after graduation. There, she worked as a nurse for 25 years between her time at Missouri Baptist and DePaul hospitals.

Therese was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School and enjoyed helping out wherever she could. She played large roles in designing and painting sets for school plays and heading up the children's costume department for Boar's Head. Additionally, she used her volleyball expertise in coaching Immanuel's volleyball teams as well as supporting her children's sports teams.

Therese made sure that her family's memories could be preserved by documenting all of life's moments. No matter how small, she would have a picture or a video camera ready. From reading a book to family trips in the Teton Mountains, she would always be prepared to capture the moment. In that same way she loved to turn those pictures into photo albums and scrapbooks. Arts and crafts were always her hobby, and all of the aforementioned actives allowed her to use her talents in a way that she had dreamed of from an early age.

Memorials may be made in Therese's name to the National Ataxia Foundation.
