Shirley L. McDonald, formerly Blell nee: Gail of Saint Peters, Missouri, died on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Harold E. McDonald and Robert E. Blell, Jr.; cherished daughter of the late Howard E. and Gladys M. Gail; devoted mother of Victoria (John) Bahr, Gail (Bill) Fann, Donna (Jim) Koenig; dear stepmother of Thomasine (Larry) Seiler, and Kammye (Don) Gillette; loving grandmother of Christopher (Maureen) Bahr, Adam (Debby) Bahr, Katherine (Tim) Moran, Rebecca (Andrew Mattson) Bahr, Scott (Melissa) Fann, Stacy (Scott) Regnier, Kevin (Katie Lambert) Fann, Lauren (Ryan) Adrian, Kelsey Koenig, Laura (John) Goste, Amy Rowe, Larry (Erin) Coleman, and Jake (Amy) Coleman; treasured great-grandmother of twenty; dear cousin, aunt and godmother. Shirley is preceded in death by her sister JoAnn Rother.
Shirley was a member of the Ladies’ Club, Marian Council, and Quilters Club at Immaculate Heart of Mary in New Melle, Missouri, where she was also a dedicated church member. Shirley enjoyed photography, knitting, traveling, bowling, and cherished spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
