Russell E. Moreland

Russell E. Moreland of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at the age of 89.  Beloved husband of the late Shirley Ann Moreland; cherished son of the late Everett H. and Gladys Moreland; devoted father of Diane (Bruce Couch) Donati and David R. Moreland; loving grandfather of Vittorio "Vic" Donati, Brian (Tatiana) Moreland, and Michael Moreland; and treasured great-grandfather of Sofia Ann Donati and Henry Moreland.  Russell was also preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Kenneth Moreland.

Russell courageously served in the United States Army during the Korean War, putting others before himself as a Medic.  After his service, he dedicated his career as a sheet metal worker for Southern Incorporated. He was a member of Chapel of the Cross and represented his faith by being a positive, calm, and patient man always ready with a smile.

In his spare time, Russell enjoyed going to the boat trying his luck gambling and entering contests to win big.  He also took great pleasure in finding treasures with his metal detector.  Most of all, he enjoyed raising his family, which is his most prized treasure.  Russell was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Russell's name to Five Acres Animal Shelter or Humane Society of St. Louis.
