Roy Thomas, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the age of 80. Loving husband of Beverly Thomas; beloved son of the late Delmar Warren Thomas and Clara Lee Craig; devoted father of Sherry Thomas and Randy (Julie) Thomas; treasured grandfather of Heather Scherffius, Anna Thomas, and Elizabeth Thomas; cherished great-grandfather of Kenda, Taylor, Kayla and Olivia; Roy is also survived by his special niece, JoAnne Koch, many nephews, niece, cousins and friends. Roy is also preceded in death by his siblings, Harry, Helen, Betty, Eddie, and Cynthia.
Roy proudly served his county in the United States Air Force. He was an American Indian and apart of Arkansas Cherokee Tribe. Roy was Chief of police of O'Fallon and served on St. Charles County's first Police Academy Board of Directors. Roy worked as a BEHR operator for 35 years and UAW Shop Stewarded for Ford. He was a Civil Defense Director of St. Charles County and established O'Fallon's first emergency communication operation center. Roy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial's maybe made in Roy's name to homeless veterans charity-Wounded Warrior Project.
