Robert “Bob” Stoehner

May 12, 2020 — September 17, 2020

Robert Lee Stoehner was born on May 12th, 1931, to Edward & Emma Stoehner in St. Charles, Missouri.  Bob began his long religious affiliation when he was baptized on 6/12/31 and later confirmed on 3/25/45 at St. John’s Church, where he later served on the board and became an elder of the church.  Bob joined Immanuel Lutheran Church on 2/24/69 to attend services with his family and was an active member until the Lord called him home to his eternal rest on September 17, 2020, at the age of 89.

On October 10, 1954, Bob married Margaret Schmidt and the two were blessed with 56 years of marriage.  Bob is survived by his two daughters, Charlotte Jensen and Sherry (Rick) Lauer; son Kenn (Stacie) Stoehner; grandchildren Amy (Quinten) Coe, Brett (Erika) Jensen, Nicole (Bobby) Jensen, Colin (Lauren) Lauer, Taylor (Phillip) Teissier, Bailey (Ty) Wheeler, and Kristen (Joe) Hampton; brother Jim (Doris) Stoehner and sister Joyce Cook;  great grandchildren Rylen, Britton, Fischer, Kayla, Reese, Finley, Robert, Jackson, Mackenzie, London, Blaine, and Pierce.

Bob attended Benton grade school and graduated from St. Charles High School.

He lived his entire life in St. Charles, except for a short stent when he was called for duty in the Army in September, 1952, being discharged in September, 1954, with a ranking of Corporal.  Bob worked for Falstaff Distributing Company as a driver/salesman for 33 years and retired in May, 1995.  He then worked for 8 years at St. Charles County Water Department before finally calling it quits and retiring.

Bob was a dedicated husband and father who spent most of his free time coaching and attending his kids’ sports activities.  He was a very upbeat, positive and jovial man who always had a joke ready to tell at a moment’s notice.  Bob was very social and seemed to know everyone in town. Many enjoyed spending time with him, as evidenced by the number of people who would just drop by throughout the week to his house.  Bob was an inspiration to all who got to know him and he did his best to lead by example.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Baue Funeral Homes does require all family members and guests to wear a mask while visiting our facilities. Social distancing is required, and guests should stay at least 6 feet apart. Thank you for your understanding.
