Rita Ann Tucker

Rita Tucker of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 94 on Saturday, August 28, 2021. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 76 years, Donald Tucker; her parents, Anton and Mary Hjort; and her siblings, Leo Hjort, Marie Blakeman, Teresa Hjort, Kate McCarthy, John Hjort, Dorothy Herbert, Eloise Eck, Morris Hjort, and Patricia Nelson.

Rita is survived by her children, Linda Ann Yater, Donna (Tom) Marie Jamison, Peggy Veronica Vishion, James (Kate) Guy Tucker, Rebecca Diane Tucker, and Tina (Tony) Mohr; her grandchildren, Denise, Joe, Brian, Greg, Mark, Tony, Michael, Jamie, Wesley, Dustin, Zachary, Isaac, Michelle, Alex, Karen, Amy and Katie; her 31 great-grandchildren; and her 5 great-great-grandchildren.

Rita was a passionate fan of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. She liked to spend time in her amazing flower and vegetable garden and she took pride in what she grew. Rita hosted every family holiday at her home and planned huge annual family reunions. When her children were young, Rita took all six to church every Sunday perfectly dressed and on time. She also sewed clothes for all six kids for their school pictures and gave the girls all their hair perms. No matter what, Rita remembered every single birthday of her nine siblings, her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Rita was fond of dancing and had great memories of all the times she square danced with Don. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
