Richard Samuel “Sam” Crane

Richard Samuel “Sam” Crane, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday September 20, 2017, at age 70.  Beloved son of the late Albert and Essie Crane; dear brother of Troy (Donna) Crane, dearest uncle of Michelle Crane.  Sam is also survived by his cherished family at the AmVets Post 106.

Sam proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.  He retired from SMF Inc. after more than 25 years as a metal fabricator.  As a member of the Am Vets Post 106 Military Honors Funeral Team, he devoted his life to honoring the veterans who served for our country in the military.  He volunteered as an emcee with Baue Funeral Homes for more than 20 years on the Memorial Committee for the Veterans Program, and he helped with placing and removing the flags on every veteran’s grave.  Sam cherished his family at the Am Vets Post, and this was where he considered himself to be truly at home.  He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
