Richard F. Creeley

Richard F. Creeley, 68, peacefully passed away, surrounded by his family, at his home in St. Charles, MO, on Monday, June 15th, 2015. 
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Creeley, and their children Karen (Steve) Brewer, Arnie Creeley, Rick (Danielle) Creeley, and Scott (Caty) Creeley. He is the beloved '˜Pop Pop' of 8 grandchildren: Alex and Isabel Brewer (Karen and Steve), Matthew Creeley (Arnie), Sarah and Rachel Creeley (Rick and Dani), and Nicholas, Anne, and Emily Creeley (Scott and Caty). Also surviving are his mother , Gertrude Creeley and his brothers Charles '˜Chuck' (Michelle) Creeley, Arnold '˜Butch' (Debbie) Creeley, and his sisters Rose (Len) Terenzi and Judy Mayer, all of Newark Valley, NY, and all of his nieces and nephews living throughout the U.S.
Dick was born on November 19th, 1946 in Endicott, NY to Arnold and Gertrude Creeley of Berkshire, NY. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corps (UMSC). He was married to Bonnie (Sokoloski) Creeley on November 8th, 1969, and was active duty in the USMC until his honorable discharge as a Sergeant (E-5) on January 19, 1972. Dick was a loving and supportive father and an active member of his community in Newark Valley, NY. He was a Little League baseball and football coach, and an active supporter of the Newark Valley Volunteer Fire Department and the Newark Valley High School Booster Club. Dick was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and enjoyed his ability to serve in the Color Guard for the Glenn A. Warner VFW Post 1371 in Owego, NY. 
In 1965, prior to becoming a Marine, Dick began a long, successful career at IBM in Endicott, NY.  Later in his career he became an IBM Executive.  He retired, after 43 years, as the Director of Asset Management Services on September 30th, 2008, in St. Louis, MO. 
He is preceded in death by his father, Arnold Creeley, Sr., his brother George '˜Pete' Creeley, and his sisters Cathy (Ron) Warner, and Elizabeth '˜Tish' Marshall. 
A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gentiva Hospice Foundation, 3350 Riverwood Parkway, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30329, or www.gentivahospicefoundation.org.
