Rev. Norman Dorsey Hale of Warrenton, MO, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at the age of 99. He was born on November 28, 1917 in Hancock, MO to Samuel and Beulah Hale.
Norman was united in marriage to Reeda Ridenour on January 21, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. They were happily married for 63 years. She faithfully stood by Norman in their full-time ministry.
Norman is survived by his son Dorsey Hale & wife, Dee of Wright City, MO; his daughter Peggy Eatherton & husband, Dennis of St. Peters, MO; his daughter Betty Moore & husband, Clinton of Crocker, MO & his daughter Donna Bond & husband, Mel of Wright City, MO; 18 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; his brother Ted Hale & wife, Fern of Lebanon, MO; other nieces, nephews, and relatives.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Beulah Hale; his wife Reeda Hale; his grandson Ray Hale; his granddaughter Celestial Bond; 5 sisters Lelia, Lena, Gladys, Nina & June; and 2 brothers Bob & Bill.
Norman was a Veteran and served in the Navy during WW II from April 1945 to February 1946.
He is best remembered as a powerful minister of the Gospel for over 60 years, pioneering, pastoring several churches, and ministering throughout the community. He loved God with all of his heart. His greatest attribute was kindness. He was a man of love.
Dad, Grandpa (better known as poppy to his great-children & great-great-children) will be greatly missed. It gives the family great comfort to know that once again he is reunited with Mom Hale and in good health.
