From St. Charles MO and later retired to Williamsburg, MO.

April 14, 1939 - December 14, 2018

He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Wilbert and Laverne Schmidt.

Cherished father of Bart (Leslie) Schmidt, Brett (Jill) Schmidt, Glenn (Candace) Schmidt, Gina Prinster and Loretta (Jack) Bradley.

Beloved Grandfather of Jason, Jared (Amy), Clayton, Whitney (Gage), Nick, Stephanie, Kayla, Christine, Scott (Erin), Claire, Michael, Jackson and Julia. Great-grandfather to Oliver, Colton, Rylen, Tyler and Spencer. Dear brother of Wilbert A. Schmidt Jr., James A. (Vonda) Schmidt, Robert G. Schmidt, Carole Ann (Richard) Bainbridge and Patricia (Pat) O’Conner.  Dear Uncle to many loved nieces and nephews. Longtime companion of Dawn White and good friend to many.

Wayne was a businessman in St. Charles City.  He worked hard his whole life from newspaper routes; proprietor of a corner store on Fifth Street and Decatur Street; McDonnell Douglas; 1965-1980 Schmidt Brick and Stone Contractors; 1982-2013 owner of St. Charles Brick Co.; until retiring from the masonry business to his grain farm in Williamsburg, MO.  He was a member of the St. Charles Lions Club for many years.  He served on the Board of the St. Charles County Economic Development Council, lifetime member of St. Louis Bricklayers Local One and Mason Contractors Association.

Wayne will be missed by many; his humor and light are irreplaceable.
