Phillip E. Emanuel

Phillip “Phil” Eugene Emanuel, of St. Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the age of 91. The son of Edward and Martha Emanuel, Ohio farmers, Phil milked cows before school and then attended classes in a one-room school house. He proudly and honorably served in the US Air Force. During this time, he met and married the love of his live, Fran; they remained married for 63 years, until her death in 2016. After earning a Bachelor degree at Tri-State College, Phil went on to work as an engineer for McDonnell Douglas and Essex Cryogenics. He was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, serving as an elder for First Christian Church of Florissant and a trustee for St. Louis Christian College.  He was also a charter member of Harvester Christian Church, serving the church and its members in many capacities.

Phil loved gardening, photography, music, and playing the harmonica. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and delighted in puns. Phillip was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He truly was one of the sweetest men in the whole world, and the last of the good ones.

Phil and Fran had five children, four of whom preceded them in death: Baby Scott, Baby Girl, Mark, and Roy. He is survived by his dear daughter, Beth (Matt) Coonen. He was the devoted grandfather of Adam (Lindsay Elaine) Emanuel, Addison and Mackenzie Eaker; Sarah (Jason) Clardy, Katie Coonen, and Daniel (Kirsten) Coonen. He was great-grandfather of Dillon, Carter, and Tessa Clardy, and Pearl Emanuel. Phil is the dear brother of Juanita Russell, Sue (John) Clark, and the late Owen (Inez) Emanuel. Phillip is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Phil's name to St. Louis Christian College.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 24, at 11:00 am, with the memorial service at noon. Both will be held at Harvester Christian Church, 2950 Kings Crossing, St. Charles, MO 63303.
