Philip Virgil Lucas, from Wentzville, MO, departed this life on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the age of 68 years. Philip was born on January 25, 1952, in St. Charles county, to James Virgil and Pauline (Dunlap) Lucas. He is survived by: his brothers Michael (Sue) Lucas, James (Marti) Lucas, sister-in-law Robin Lucas, nieces Tammy (Steve) Haas, Melissa (Tom) Troesser, Trisha (Scott) English, nephews Justin (Melinda) Lucas and Shannon (Sabina) McMurtry, uncle Roger (Janet) Lucas, aunt Martha Bond, as well as, many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by his extended family Carol Elam and her daughters: Cate, Drew, and Jae.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, James Virgil and Pauline Lucas, his siblings: Deborah Harding, Samuel Lucas, and Karen Lucas, uncle Harold Bond and brother-in-law Mark Harding.
Philip attended Mount Zion Bible School in Ava, Missouri and excelled in sports. He owned and operated the family construction business, Lucas Homes, LLC, which was started by his father over 50 years ago. He took great pride in the quality of homes they provided for the surrounding community. Philip loved God, family, friends, telling stories, and laughing. He also enjoyed hunting, traveling, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals. We are all better for knowing him. He will be greatly missed.
As required at this time a small graveside service will be held at Mount Salem Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Philip's honor to
Shriners Hospital for Children.
