Philip A. Cirko of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 16, at the age of 81. Loving husband of 58 years to Barbara Cirko (nee Reczek); beloved son of Joseph and Marie Cirko; devoted father of Gina (Paul) Hopkins, Jodi (Timothy) Foran, and Jill Cirko; cherished grandfather of Paul (Melinda) Hopkins, Preston Hopkins, Sydney Foran, Devin Nicholson, Paige Hopkins, and Riley Foran; dearest brother of Jack (Barbara) Cirko and Pearl (the late Phil) Black; dear brother-in-law of Mark (Debbie) Reczek; and dear uncle of Chelsea (Alex) Daher and Bryan Reczek.
Phil proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1958. He retired after more than 25 years in construction industry as a lather, then continued working with his own small businesses. He was a true handyman and always enjoyed taking on projects around the house. He especially liked making birdhouses for family and friends. Phil also liked reading his handyman books and manuals. His favorite teams to root for were the Chicago White Sox and the Bears, and friends and family will always remember how he hated the Cubs. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in Phil's honor to
American Parkinson Disease Association.
