Patricia A. “Pat” Tochtrop

Patricia A. “Pat” Tochtrop (nee Salfen), of O’Fallon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at the age of 87. Loving wife of the late Alois “Ollie” Tochtrop; beloved daughter of the late Albinus and Josephine (nee Hanley) Salfen; devoted mother of Jeanne (Bob) Palombo, Carolyn Tochtrop, Ann (Barry) Bender, and Lisa (Kevin) Bazzell; cherished grandmother of Tricia (Nate) Lovan, Tony (Megan) Palombo, Jeffrey (Jessica) Bender, Steven Bender, Kyle Bazzell and Austin Bazzell; treasured great-grandmother of Oliver, Sam and Henry Lovan, Arabella Palombo, and another great-grandchild on the way. Pat is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.

Pat is preceded in death by her granddaughter Katie Bender, her brother Ambrose “Buddy” (Betty) Salfen, sisters Sr. Mary Clement Salfen C.PP.S., Marcella (Frankie) Billing, and Lorraine (Leo) Boehmer.

Pat was a faith-filled member of Assumption Catholic Church. She enjoyed singing very much and was a cantor and member of the choir. Pat and her husband, Ollie, worked with the St. Vincent DePaul Society for many years and helped with annual food drives and the distribution of food and gift baskets at Christmastime. She enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, puzzles and always spending time with family.

Pat was a kind, loving and respected woman. She was cherished by her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Pat’s name to St. Vincent DePaul Society at Assumption or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
