Nathaniel Chillis, a devoted musician, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017, at the age of 77 in O’fallon, MO. He was born to the late Ollie and Elizabeth Chillis in Detroit, MI. He met the love of his life, Rosa, and they were married August 10, 1963. He was a devoted father to Natalie (Ruben) Odumes and Nathaniel N. Chillis; cherished grandfather of Tyler Chillis and Erica Wilkerson; and dear brother of Vivian (William) Bryant and the late James Cochran.
Nathaniel retired from the Detroit Public School System after more than 37 years as a music teacher. He was a talented man who played the saxophone and flute, and shared his love of music throughout the years playing with various bands. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Nathaniel was deeply loved, and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
