Michael V. Hoerchler
September 27, 1944 — September 10, 2021
Michael V. Hoerchler, of Lenexa, KS, formerly of Pacific MO, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021, at the age of 76. Loving husband of the late Beverly Hoerchler; beloved son of the late Vincent and Ruth Hoerchler; devoted father of Brian (Karen) Hoerchler, Scott (Amy) Hoerchler, and Melissa (Rocky) Groves; cherished grandfather of Patrick Hoerchler, Nicholas Hoerchler, Jenna Hoerchler, Stephen Hoerchler, Kylie Groves, Chloe Hoerchler, and Lily Groves; dearest brother of Carolyn (the late Fred) Cashion, Ralph Hoerchler, and William (Mary) Hoerchler. Michael was also preceded in death by his infant brother, Robert Hoerchler.
Michael proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from Temple-Inland Paper & Packaging Corp. after more than 28 years as a supervisor. He was a dedicated worker and enjoyed his job and the people he worked with.
As a true outdoorsman, Michael loved fishing, especially trout and fly-fishing. He always looked forward to hunting season and spending that special time with his sons. He also enjoyed the yearly camping trip to Montauk State Park every October. Michael was a real handyman as well and loved working with things, and he was never afraid to take anything apart; he knew he could get it back together.
Family was very important to Michael, and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He was always ready to cheer them on at their soccer games or other events. He cherished their outings to the movies and other fun lunches and dinners. He looked forward to Christmas every year just so he could spoil his grandkids with gifts and love.
Michael was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in Michael’s name to American Heart Association.
