Michael Dean Hood, "The Man, The Myth, The Great Legend," of St. Charles County, MO, passed away surrounded by loved ones, as the sun set on Saturday, April 11, 2020. Michael lived his 63 years to the fullest and continued to care, provide and love the people around him all of his days. Michael is survived by his parents Bessie Lee Hayes and Joe Dean Hood, his wife Mary, his sisters Teresa Deguire (Charlie) and Jo-Anna Moscati (John), his son Jacob Hood (Kelly), his bonus son Greg Bush(Gina), his grandson Hawke Hood and by his many beloved uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and friends. Michael was devoted to his family and friends and would do anything for them. He demonstrated his strong Christian values and work ethic daily by going above and beyond when a co-worker, friend or family member called for help, and he carried his tools everywhere "just in case". Michael was member of the IBEW Local 1 for 45 years and most of his career was spent as the service department riding boss for Bell Electrical Contractors. As a proud member of NECA, he was dedicated to the electrical industry and served it proudly. Above all, Michael was a born leader and mentor for his peers and employees. If you ask anyone who knew him, they will tell you a story about a time Michael did something crazy, fast, loud or daring, but the story will always end with good humor and laughter. Michael was always ready for adventure and rallied the troops when a project needed to be tackled. We knew whatever the task, it would include hard work, good times, good food and a story for the next generation. He is our hero and will be dearly missed.
