Melvin L. “Mel” Wollenberg

Melvin L. “Mel” Wollenberg of Saint Charles, MO, passed Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the age of 83. Beloved husband of 60 years to June Wollenberg; cherished son of the late Leo and Genevieve Wollenberg; devoted father of Susan Harris, Randall (Laura) Wollenberg, and Barbara (Kenneth) Schafer; loving grandfather of eleven; treasured great-grandfather of two; and dear brother of Richard (Carolyn) Wollenberg, the late Robert Wollenberg, and Mary Ann LeJeune.

Melvin dedicated many years as a materials manager for various companies before ‘retiring’ then worked for H&R Block. Melvin was known to be very organized which was reflected in his volunteer work as Senior Group Trip Leader at Church of the Shepherd for 12 years and Forever Young Treasurer. He enjoyed photography and video recording, tending his vegetable and flower gardens, and loved to travel with family and friends. Some of his destinations included all 50 states, Europe, and the Carribean. He was known to be a bit of a jokester and will be remembered for his sense of humor, and gentle and kind spirit. Melvin will be missed by all who knew him.
