Master Sgt. (Ret.) Marvin G. Herrod, age 75, of St. Charles, Missouri, July 13, 2017. Beloved husband of 50 wonderful years to Catherine M. Herrod; cherished son of the late Willie Ray and Gladys Herrod; devoted father of Marvin (Laura) Herrod, Jr. and Randy (Angela) Herrod-Gonzalez; loving grandfather of Marvin G. Herrod III, Charlotte Sibley Herrod, and Tia Herrod; and dear brother of John (the late Janet) Herrod, Dorothy Herrod, and Venus (Bobby) Hersheimger.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Esther Tucker, Martha Kay Flores, George Herrod, and David Herrod.
Marvin proudly served his country in the United States Army for 23 years. He served in the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a Master Parachutist and Jump Master, and received many awards. He lived an exciting life that included golfing, bowling, and billiards. Marvin also enjoyed smoking, gambling, watching Fox News, and hanging out with his dogs. Each week, he made sure he got a Lottery ticket. Marvin’s greatest joy was spending time with his wonderful family, especially his grandchildren. He was dearly loved, and will be missed by all who knew him.
